On May 12–15 Kalinin NPP received sportsmen from nine Russian NPPs

May 12–15 Kalinin NPP hosted Spartakiad of servicemen of the interior troops guarding Russian NPPs, employees of the security departments of NPPs and Atom Okhrana FSUE.

The director of Kalinin Nuclear Power Plant L.Martynovchenko, the first deputy head of the Special Security Department of Rosenergoatom Concern D.Minayev, the head of the group for protection of strategic national facilities of the Chief Staff of the Interior Troops of Russia S.Mosyagin, the deputy head of the administration of Udomlia district N.Glazunova, the chief referee of the events L.Belyakova welcomed the sportsmen and wished them success.

The Spartakiad began with shooting events. The team of Kalinin NPP were the most accurate – they scored 110 points. The teams of Kursk and Kola NPP were the second and the third, respectively. Alexander Zimin from Kola NPP was the best in men’s individual, followed by Rustam Nafikov from Kalinin NPP. Svetlana Churilova from Kursk NPP was the best among women with Yekaterina Leskina and Olesia Ostanina (both from Kalinin NPP) winning the second and the third places, respectively.

The shooting events were followed by swimming. Anna Nasyrova from Kalinin NPP won 50 meter freestyle individual.

The relay was a spectacular show. The swimmers of Kalinin NPP were the quickest followed by the team of Novovoronezh NPP. The team of Novovoronezh NPP was the best in swimming, Kalinin NPP – the second, Kola NPP – the third.

The program of the second day, May 14, included field and track athletics and weight-lifting.

The team of Novovoronezh NPP won the relay race. The teams of Kalinin and Kola NPPs were the second and the third, respectively.

The team of Kalinin NPP was unsurpassed in weight-lifting. All the six weight-lifters from Kalini NPP – D.Nasyrov, A.Plotnikov, R.Nafikov, I.Popkov, M.Boykov and S.Lutko – were real Herculeses and received standing ovation. Damir Nasyrov lifted a 24-km weight 143 times!!! He later confessed that he never expected he could do it. I.Popkov was the strongest in individual, A.Plotnikov was the second, D.Nasyrov – the third.

The team of Kalinin NPP was the strongest in weight-lifting. The teams of Novovoronezh NPP and Volgodonsk NPP were the second and the third, respectively.

Damir Nasyrov was the hero of the day: he performed well in all events as did his team. Our sportsmen – employees of the security service and servicemen guarding the plant – proved their efficiency and strength.

The team of Kalinin NPP was proclaimed the winner of Spartakiad. The team of Novovoronezh NPP won silver, the team of Kursk NPP – the bronze.

The sportsmen proved that our nuclear power plants are guarded by strong and efficient men.
