Rosenergoatom Concern, the biggest power generating company of Russia, is conducting a photo contest “Nuclear Renaissance in Pictures” among employees of the nuclear power sector, amateur and professional photographers.

Presently, we are witnessing a growing lack of positive images of the nuclear power industry in the press. Most of the pictures we see do not reflect the reality. That’s why the key objective of the contest is to shape a new vision of the sector in the context of the global nuclear renaissance. Besides, the contest is a good opportunity for nuclear power sector employees to display their creativity.

The application period was from Feb 15 till Apr 1 2007.

We have received almost 500 works. Several works were from abroad, which made our contest international.

Presently, all the works are being examined and prepared for voting. Shortly we will form an expert jury, which will select the winners.

Besides, we are planning an open internet voting and you are welcome to vote for whatever photo you like. The winner of the open internet voting will be awarded a special prize.

The winners of the contest will get diplomas, awards and gifts. The best pictures will be displayed at Rosenergoatom’s exhibition hall.
