The 2010 Technology Survey, a recent study conducted by Financial Planning, asked readers about the hardware, software as well as advisory platforms. Talking of smartphones, iPhone and Android seem to be the latest favourites, with the latter beating its last year’s performance this year.

- In case of iPhone, 64% were “very satisfied” – same as previous year, 27% were “somewhat satisfied”, whereas 5% of the users were “very unsatisfied”.
- Although iPhone and Android dominated the survey responses, BlackBerry also performed quite well and bagged the third position for the most popular OS. 25% of its users were “very satisfied”, 50% were “somewhat satisfied”, whereas 5% of them were “very unsatisfied”.
- Of all those surveyed 899 were iPhone users, 1199 BlackBerry users while 531 used Android OS smartphones. The figures do not reflect usage in North America, although Android is the most popular OS in the region.
- Palm and Windows Phone were the other operating systems represented in this survey.

Today, Path, a new social networking service, was launched for iPhone.
